Aw griefing - Chloe - 07-16-2012

what are the griefing rules of aw?

RE: Aw griefing - shppthwhtfx - 07-16-2012

I believe they're still "you can break and enter, but no massive griefing's allowed" something like that? Not sure if we changed it cause no PvP. Any lava grief is considered massive.

RE: Aw griefing - Aeonex - 07-16-2012

Yes, lava grief is both a "PVP" move and a grief, so not allowed. Break and Enter and stealing is okay. If you build a house made of iron blocks, if they remove the entire house made of iron blocks (but leave other blocks untouched) you lost all your iron! Whatever is considered valuable to the server applies to the "stealing allowed" rule. Blocks that apply: Clay block, Brick, Iron, Diamond ore, Diamond block, Redstone_Ore, Lapis Ore, Lapis block, chests, Gold ore, Gold block, Food blocks of any kind, Dragon Egg, Iron Bars/Fence, Mycelium, Glowstone, Repeaters, Redstone wire, Redstone torch, Redstone lamps, (Future: Emerald Ore, Emerald Blocks) All 3 rail types, TNT* and Mossy Cobblestone/Bricks ONLY. Any other block not listed DOES NOT COUNT as a "rare" item.

Bookshelves don't count, they aren't rare, it just takes effort and time to get one.

* - If you see TNT placed, inform an OP or Admin immediately

What about placing blocks? if someone places blocks in your house?

RE: Aw griefing - Aeonex - 07-18-2012

Greifing is defined Minecraft wise, as: "Adding or subtracting anything undesirable to another person or their property which ruins the function of a game." Some OPs go to the extent of saying words are also a part "griefing" such as persistently harassing an individual to ruin the function of Minecraft (E.G. ruining fun conversations by privately spamming someone so they can't read the chat)

Of course, I call things what they are, spam, trolling, harassment, etc. I leave "griefing" to strictly property or gaming functions only. For example, I consider someone who hacks Minecraft which allows them to teleport to another player constantly when the player wants them to leave, griefing. I also consider griefing to be placing large undesirable builds next to another person's build when the player first there expressly stated they didn't want it there. I DON'T consider someone spamming another person in chat privately, to be griefing. I leave the respect rule to do it's job in those areas. =)
