Hey, I'm going to be off the server for a bit this weekend. I'm going to be going back home for 2 days, before coming back up to plymouth. The whole univeristy term has ended for me, so I can go home whenever I want, but I decided to stay here since I get beastly internet connection, which helps for doing gaming videos (multiplayer especially, knowing how terrible my home connection is...).
Anyway, I'm going back now in particular, and only for 2 days because my grandparents are coming all the way down from Nottinghame to visit, and my parents obviously don't want me to miss them, with how little I see them. I also want to see them as well, although I am having to pull a few strings where doing videos is concerned (family over "fame" I guess, hehe).
Either way, it is probably for the best that I won't be online so much, knowing the drama I have caused lately.
Just to clear things up, I don't actually have any regrets: for those who don't know, what I did was to enter Adventure world, and raid some of the houses there a little. Why? Simply to experience what it's like. I personally have never played a proper survival server, with PVP and free-for-all rules, since the very first server I joined had those kinds of rules, which ended up with me constantly being teleported to and killed before I could even gather any items or build a home. The fact that AW is a PVP and raid-allowed world interested me, so I thought for one time, I would try it out.
MetalicPenguin4 is likely still angry that I in particular raided his building, and I can understand that. I enterred his building by mining blocks from the wall, looked around, broke a few things here and there, then mined below past trap doors to find some redstone. The rules of AW state that you can raid buildings of valuable materials, so I decided "what the heck, if I wasn't a superop, redstone would probably be pretty valuable to me, and this is a competetive world afterall". So I took some redstone wiring, before leaving and thinking it would also be a bit of a funny gesture to leave sponge to pad in the walls I had broken through. There may also have been a bit more sponge around, but that was about it. As far as I was concerned, harmless fun, which should have sent the message that AW is a place you should probably expect to have your builds damaged a bit. There were also other buildings I had raided: I'd broken through walls to enter, broken through more parts to look around, before leaving, and maybe taking a few melons/ other blocks here and there.
MetalicPenguin then found out about a week or so after it had happened, after I jokingly mentioned raiding his adventure world building (knowing myself that I already had done). He then decided to find one of my buildings, a building in my fort, and filled it with quite a lot of obsidian. Obviously, I wasn't happy with this: this was more griefy than what I had done (rather than actually enterring to take items) but I did expect it, and partly deserved it (was actually up for a bit of a challenge, but something more on the scale that I had done). I retaliated after I found the obsidian inside my building. What I did was probably wrong, but I was not happy with all the obsidian. What I will apologise to penguin for is clearing out his redstone a second time, and deciding to try and fill his house with as much obsidian, by using water and lava. I then quickly realised I shouldn't have, before trying to fix some of the things I had broken; removing the water and lava, and instead, taking his obsidian back to his building, simply placing it back on the inside as he had done to me (I suppose I am very much someone who believes in an eye for an eye in those sorts of situations). He obviously found out about it, before coming back to my building whilst I was in there, and I slew him before he had a chance to replace more obsidian.
As I said, I can understand why Penguin is unhappy with my actions, and to him, they were probably unbefitting of being an OP. What I will say however is this Adventure World is bound to have these kinds of things happening. I was actually surprised that nobody had yet raided much, but figured it was probably because of how little new players go there. In my eyes, in the first instance, although what I did could've been seen as a nuisence act/ griefing, I did still abide by the rules of Adventure World. On the second instance however, I do apologise. Even with retaliating by "returning" the obsidian which Penguin had placed inside one of my buildings, that was a childish act. Instead of reacting the way I did, I should have mentioned to Penguin that it was not right, as I felt, and still feel that we are both as much at fault with regards to the times with obsidian. He did not try and raid me first, but the only thing I attempted to do was to get the most out of Adventure World, just to see what the experience was like, whilst sticking to rules. Of course, I did expect resistance, but the way he did resist was a step too far in my eyes, to which I reacted in an equally innapropriate manner.
I wanted to get this said before I leave for home, since I won't get much of a chance to whilst I am there. Penguin said that he would take screenshots, and personally, I welcome that. Please do post them here if you want to Penguin.
I won't say any more on this, I won't argue or attempt to cause more drama, for the drama I already have caused. If I find that Penguin has done more to my Adventure World fort, I won't even split a hair over it: if it is bad, I will either ask Clown to restore, or rebuild it by hand, knowing that I still plan to have it zoned so it can be used as a new portal for adventure world.
Personally, I am done with this, and have no more plans to retaliate. Even after the first time I tried my hand at raiding, I had decided I wasn't particularly interested in trying again.
If you feel I have said anything wrong, or missed anything out (in particular Penguin), feel free to reply to this.
In the meantime, cya more on Monday.
