A new snapshot has been released, this is the last Snapshot that's adding new stuff and it will only be bugfixes after this. 1.12 is very close!
Snapshotversion: 17w16a

- Commandblocks cause less lag
- Added: Tutorial hints for new players. They only show in survival mode and only once
- Hardened clay has been renamed to Terracotta
- Shulkerbox colors have been updated to match the new wool texture
- More advancements

Jeez, I think mojang is really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Don't get me wrong, this is a cool update, but seriously, they'll probably be adding pointless mobs for the rest of minecraft, and I honestly just prefer normal mobs (creepers, skellies, zombies, spiders) as that was what I had to fight back when I first started.

I agree completely Ham. Their running out of ideas.
One thing that I thought would be epic is if after you kill the dragon and the wither (aquire an egg and a netherstar) you can craft an item that acts as a portal to a dimension thats similar in style to the end, but has a big Mansion/Castle dungeon, where at the end you fight Herobrine as a final boss. He would have special powers and spells like teleportation, Fireballs, etc. and you could get a unique Weapon or something as a reward!
Or they could just add magic to the game, that would make it really fun personally.

The idea of parrots as a flying mob other than bats, blazes and ghasts is cool yeah, but apart from flying do they really have a point? Yes they are supposed to "imitate" mob noises, but when i hear them there is little to no difference in the sounds they make personally.. and yes you can sit them on your shoulder, but is that useful when every time u jump u need to go find it and put it on again?
Idk i feel like the updates pointless, "ooh renamed hardened clay", Mesas arent made of Terracotta.. Its an entirely different process to making hard clay, and Terracotta xD Having it as Hardened Clay makes more sense due to the fact that Mesas are created that way, by the minerals and whatever colouring the clay as it dries in the heat sorta like painting it
Also the voice to speech thing would be awful for any server with titles and ranks like ours because it would literally say all this in words

Is there not a method to make it so it simply says Spiketrooper Says: Hi guys i'm Spiketrooper by some method of using the id of the player because do we REALLY need to hear the title, rank, world, whatever else each time? and with a server that has such a fast chat log, it would easily get overwhelming, and something like Hypixel is worse lets be honest. xD
Idk i went on a big ol rant there, put Hams rant to shame xD My point is, they need to actually pay attention to their fans and add things people want, like magic, usable duel wielding in combat, more bosses that arent just "shoot me until my health dies" like the dragon and Wither, etc.. Yeah all done now thanks if u read it all... xD

Lucky enough, text to speech is for the player itself only. So if you turn it on, then only you can hear it. And yeah...I think that it's time for them to make Herobrine a real boss..the joke is getting old.
And please don't drain the swamp...Some of my family lives there ;-;
