hey people,
I'm toufen and I've been gone for a while now, mostly because i changed countries from U.A.E (in the middle east) to m home country, Iran.
I'm on my mothers laptop and well... it isn't as powerful as my computer that's being shipped from U.A.E to Iran. So i might not be able to come onto CFEW, i tried to update my minecraft after downloading it but it gives me an error saying NULL.
I'm going to be as active as i can on the forum but the problem is that the homework that they give you in Iran is BRUTAL... my cousin who goes to grade 5 had to memorize about 6-7 pages of history.
I might not be able to come online later too much, but ill try anyways.
The internet here suck and its kinda like the 90's. If someone's on the phone you have no internet, and most things are blocked in Iran (Facebook, you tube, etc.) so i might have to use a VPN which lowers my internet speed D:
i just wanted to check in and say that I'm not leaving CFEW or anything like that.

Fatal error occured (4): null means that something is blocking/not allowing the download, I think. Try tuning off anti virus and firewall whilst its downloading. That should fix the problem, hopefully. Or you could try going to appdata and deleting your .minecraft...

You say that things are blocked over there. Could it there be a possibility that minecraft is blokes as well? I know that some companies (like Blizzard) dropped support in Iran because of sanctions/US laws. Could be the same with Mojang, although they are Swedish.

Right. Mojang/minecraft is not blocked in Iran. The only game blocked is battlefield 3.
So the last thing I'm gonna suggest is that the computer is too old for minecraft to run on it and maybe doesn't have decent enough graphics card (yes believe it or not minecraft does need some graphics) or doesnt have enough RAM? That could be it.
