Advertising the server - wakeboy100 - 06-02-2013
Most of you probably wont take this into any account, but i think the server should be advertised on at least one Minecraft Server website such as http://minecraftservers.org/
As many of you may know, CFEW has had an average of around zero people on all the time. Knowing that in the U.S it is summer break from school, and many players sit around and play video games. This is how its been for recent years also. For a few weeks, i noticed that we were getting quite a few new players, but now were back to nothing. Because no one would want to log onto an empty server. I think some low level, could do us a lot of good.
I also think we need something to get our current players back online... I know we have the sandbox map, but maybe we need something bigger?
I know you all feel like if we advertise, we could get spammers and hackers...
ermm.. helloo? thats why we have OP's, any misbehavior from new players is almost always an immediate ban. Plus, doesn't every server get spammers and hackers? nothing is stopping them from doing these things right now. Nothing will change besides the fact that maybe some day, we'll get that annoying error message when logging on the server: "The server is full"
Ill admit that this may have bothered me when i used to get this message around two years ago, but now i could get that message and smile about it!
Hope this wasnt a waste of time, i think it needs to be considered.
