Colobot (Colony Robots) is a really cool old school 3D game with pretty good graphics and really good game play mixed with the challenge of learning lightweight computer programming in-game controlling robots. It's really fun if you like exploration games and robots. This used to be a commercial game and now it has been released to the open source community. I think there are currently only PC and Linux free versions. They are working on a Mac version.
Come to this website to learn about it and see some quick pictures ((LINK)) (The original page with many colorful in game screenshots. This game has lots of depth and really is fun! There is no need to buy the old version here, look at the links below to download the new open source/free version)

It loads great for me and plays really well. Do the missions to learn the gameplay or watch youtube videos on "Colobot" or "Ceebot".
Unfortunately it is not multiplayer, but hopefully they will add this later on.
