It might help to not see the spam, but if there was something quintessential we needed to see in the chat it would be lost forever.

But it would take extra time to have to go back and look at the chat logs when we could just scroll up through chat and see it. Plus chat logs are for Admin+ because there could be information we aren't supposed to see and we do.

We do have /mute that we can use to combat spammers and advertisers.
