SW PvP Series! - pigpenguin - 09-09-2018
It's time to brew some potions, dust off your armor, and prepare to fight in SW's PvP Series!
Every Sunday at 12PM American EST/5pm GMT (starting Sunday 16th), players will compete in 5 unique matches to earn points. At the end of every 13-week series, the top point-earners will battle to become the series champion. In addition to a cash prize, the series champion will receive a statue in the Hall of Champions in the SW spawn.
Here are the details:
Quote:When: Sundays at 12PM EST (noon), starting next Sunday (9/16/18). Please try to have all your gear prepared beforehand.
Where: Default venue will be the SW Arena, which will be setup each week to provide fun challenges
Points:
-Each player gets 1 point for participating in each match (5 matches every week)
-The winner of each match receives 5 points
-The second place finisher of each match receives 2 points
-After the 5 matches are complete, the top two point-earners for the day will face off in a duel!
-Winner of duel earns 10 points
-Loser of duel earns 5 points
-We will be recording points on a separate forum thread.... remember, you can earn 5 points a week just for showing up!
Match Formats:
Each of the 5 normal matches will be free-for-all with varying gear restrictions. Horses will be provided to all players, though you may bring your own if you wish (horse damage is turned on in the final match, so use caution). KeepInventory will be turned on for all matches! You do not have to worry about losing your gear.
Match 1: Swords, Shields, Armor, Normal Food
Match 2: Swords, Shields, Bows, Axes, Normal Food (no tipped arrows)
Match 3: No gear/weapons restrictions! Potions, tipped arrows, golden apples, anything goes! -
Match 4: ON HORSES- Horse health OFF. Swords, Shields, Bows, Axes, Normal Food (no tipped arrows)
Match 5: ON HORSES- Horse health ON. No gear/weapons restrictions (same as match 3)
Final Duel: Between the day's top two points earners. The second-place earner decides the gear restrictions.
Prizes:
-If there were, on average, more than 8 participants for each match, the winner gets $6,000 and runnerup gets $1500
-If there were, on average, 5-8 participants for each match, the winner gets $4,000 and runnerup gets $1,000
-If there were, on average, fewer than 5 participants for each match, the winner gets $3,000 and runnerup gets $500
We hope this serves as a fun addition to SW's gameplay, one that will create a sense of communal fun despite the fact that we're slashing each other with swords. Even if PvP is not really your thing, come on out and join! More players means more fun!
