Sorry that nobody thought of a situation like this where you HAVE to have a vanilla tool for a recipe instead of using one of the new MineTinker items!
That problem was fixed quickly.
Now, when you make a new tool, it's plain vanilla.
To convert it to MineTinker, you hold the item and use the command
/MT convert
This is how to create new MineTinker items for now.
*NOTE: Be careful and make SURE you are holding the correct item in your hand when you do this!

yes, default setting is the tools are made minetinker tools.
like oah said, I changed that behaviour already, so for making them you need to use the command oah mentioned.
Just be careful not to use it on already converted (and leveled up) tools since that will reset them aswell.
