Java issues

hey all recently i've encountered problems with Java and i cannot open minecraft, I tried to play it off of the website but it game me the message "The following plug-in has crashed: Java™ SE 7 U4" I restarted my computer which usually fixes everything :/ but saddly that didn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this?

You probably should try to get a new copy of java and uninstall that one by going to control panel/add or remove programs and then uninstall java, then redownload it here: http://java.com/en/
If this doesn't work, I have a pc and can try to walkthrough you to fixing it on the forums.

I can't even open it in the control panel but that may be because i'm on the guest account

Yeah... guest doesnt have adminstrative access, lol... You'll need to log in as the administrator to uninstall and reinstall java.

uninstalled and re installed :/ the launcher won't connect to minecraft.net but i can access it via google chrome. I also cannot open minecraft.jar without getting a java error but i think i know how to fix that since i was running minecraft seconds prior to trying to open it...(for installing fly mod) thx for help everyone!

I have the same issue. But my computer is old anyway, so I'm just getting a new one!
