It won't necessarily be a server project. It can start off as some people moving their shops to an area, preferably flatland. Only those who want to move it. Though it would be a good idea to since people would have easy access. Of course though, we'll need a start off point sort of thing I guess.

I'm all for it, it'd also reduce the need for certain players to use all their time gathering a large range of materials... could just have different people covering only sections/ materials they want to, while other people gather other materials. :3
You know, almost how malls work now, large area, containing lots of specialist shops, in one place. =P

@Everyone - I love this idea! Good one Nopi!.... If you want to allow existing shops to be moved there, let me know. I will copy paste shops as owners speak up. Or you can allow new shop builds only. Also make a master mall zone, then make mini zones in side the master mall zone.. and set the priority higher for the mini zones to each shop owner.

Learn how to use region 'priorities' and 'flags' - Anyone want to write a step by step tutorial (maybe with pictures)?? If so post it in this forum.

Simple put try this:
  1. Make huge mall zone
  2. Make mini zone for 1st shop owner
  3. Set mini zone for shop owner to a higher priority with this: /region priority <region> 5 (a higher number overrides another zone... 0 is default, 5 is higher than 0 so it dominates the overlapping area of main mall zone) Get it?
  4. Have shop owner test it out
  5. Repeat for all other shop owners

Whether or not shop ranks are a good idea or not, I don't know. Whether they are feasible though is another question. There's no good way that I know of to keep track of how much someone sells that doesn't involve Clown doing a lot of work. I think some good could come out of this discussion though (the mall idea). That could be good for another thread to discuss some finer details.

After going through several different thoughts, i came up with an idea. Instead of having a central mall maybe we can have people design different malls? I know the idea was to have one central area for shopping but lets get realistic now, you know how hard it would be to make a building big enough for the entire server to have a shop in?

I'm thinking maybe people can design malls and have people make shops in them. An OP or an experienced builder would create a shopping mall and run it. People can ask that person to run a shop in it. Also that person would establish rules for that mall by making a post on the forum.

Also i just had a last minute thought, maybe we can make a large city out of malls so they would be in walking distance. Possibly once that person designs the mall they can be moved into a city area that would contain several others.

I still like the idea of a mall for existing shops... were you'd just have portals which take you there instantly, saying the warp as well, and who's shop it is etc. =P
