Hi everyone,
So we are going to run a Survivor Competition soon (aiming for August), which will be organised like the TV Show 'Survivor'. We will start with 2 teams of 5, and each weekend there will be a reward challenge, and the next day an immunity challenge. The team that loses the immunity will have to vote someone off. That person will go to redemption island and will be given a chance to re-enter the game later on.
The two teams will merge at some point, and when we are down to 2 players, all remaining players will vote for who they think should be the ultimate Survivor! This person will receive... $50,000 in a world of their choice, and a unique title ingame.
The map will only be open on weekends. You will only be allowed to build in a small area, and you will be given a chest of materials to build a shelter with. There will be chests scattered around your island (each team will have their own island), where you can forage for extra resources. There will also be a hidden immunity idol. The only mob that will have to battle are spiders, and your only access to food will be fish (although you might win food at the Challenges). If a player on your team dies, your team will incur a time penalty at the challenges.
At this point we are looking for
1. Contestants - volunteers who will be able to join each weekend (missing the occasional challenge won't be a problem as we can get a standin to disguise as you)
2. Youtubers - people who can help record the challenges so we can put little videos together and put them on our youtube channel
3. Challenge Designers - we currently have 8 solid ideas for challenges but need people to help us come up with new ideas, and/or help build them. Here are some examples;
* Reward challenge - each contestant, one at a time, leads a chicken through an obstacle course (above lava). The obstacle course has a few traps to avoid, and some easy parkour to get over. First team to get all chickens across wins the challenge. Reward: They get a chicken at their base.
* Immunity challenge - platform in the water, each team member swims down, one at a time, to retrieve blocks from a chest (eg 5 blocks per chest). Once they have all the blocks they swim ashore, and then select two team members to assemble the blocks. The two team members will be shown a pattern of how to lay the blocks out, which they need to memorise, then go over a short parkour course to an assembly area. First team to assemble the pattern correctly wins immunity.
If you are a Survivor fan, think of some of the challenges, and how we can reproduce that challenge in minecraft! We can use an assortment of parkour, mazes, archery (hit button, kill animal) etc. The challenge has to be fairly robust though.. and take some time to complete.
