I think it either is already, or used to be...
People don't generally read that though... as shown by people having no idea what the command /motd did a long while back, whenever people were told about it... XD
I was thinking the occasional broadcast would be a good idea.

Sounds good about the auto thorn thing, but maybe put it in a different colour. =P
Also, it'd be best if it wasn't done right before a restart... I mean when they see the restart text, people generally concentrate on finishing up rather than reading all the lines of text... XP

I don't really mind but it takes a long time to look around for which shops have what etc.

well... someone can just request the item needed, and then someone can jump to their need.....
like we should make the posting format start off with [STORE] or [NEED] or [SELLING] or [WTB] or [WTT]
store: store ad
need: requesting a certain item
selling: selling an item... DUH.... lol ^_^
wtb: want to buy
wtt: want to trade
add any more others you would like ^_^
