I feel like the economy is getting too big for any shops in CFEW. They have to change the prices skyhigh! I think this is getting to be a little too much. To much money just swimming around here. I want to know what you mean about the economy of the server.

@Drag, Admins, and OPs - What are you ideas on what would bring nice balance to our economy? Can someone post from our other economy discussions here. Aeonex, Shpp, pig, and others have discussed the economy a lot lately. Players speak up and discuss what you'd like to see in an economy. What are you 'needs' and 'wishes'. From that we can form what will work the best for the community.

I think part of the current problem is that people get money for doing literally nothing. If we limit the ways that people can get money (perhaps through jobs, selling to a server shop, etc.), I think we'd be a little better off (though there is a lot more that needs to be done besides that).

"I think part of the current problem is that people get money for doing literally nothing. "
That's very true. Like we discussed in the other thread, I think the income should be given to online players only.
Also like I mentioned in the other thread, we should I identify the problems before coming up with solutions.
The MAIN problem right now, imo, is that there are very limited ways to spend money. To be honest, my shop seems to be the only one still open. All the other ones on the shoplist are closed or very close to out of stock. To prevent going out of business and keep up with the increased money supply, I've had to raise prices dramatically.
I think the other shops closed for a couple reasons:
1) Prices were too low and they were constantly getting bought out. With the auto income (before Aeon changed it to 3 per hour), a guest that has been on the server just over a week could literally walk into nearly any shop and clear its inventory and still have money left over.
2) Lack of motivation to earn money. With the dwindling number of shops, players, especially shop owners, have fewer places to spend their hard earned money. It has come to a point where money is nearly useless because of the limited places to spend it.
So, coming off of the second point: I don't see how changing to a gold economy will FIX the problems I've listed. Instead of having a useless pile of money, players will have a useless pile of gold. Instead of having no motivation to earn money, players will have no motivation to earn gold. I still don't see how the gold economy will really change anything =/
I don't really have an opinion on alternative ways to earn money at this point. I don't see any problems with the jobs plugin. I think the greatest concern should be the alternative ways to SPEND money. The adminshop/server shop and/or buying land plugin sound like good solutions to me.
I think we should at least try to set up an adminshop temporarily to see how it benefits the server, if at all. Its inventory and prices will be VERY important in determining how it influences the server. Perhaps it should sell very very rare items (dragon eggs and music discs) at obscenely high prices just to give people motivation to earn money at their shops.
That's all for now.

I don't think buying land is a feasible option. A server shop could be a workable idea.
So far it seems our problem is multifaceted: there's too much money, it is too easy to get a lot of it, and there's nothing to actually spend it on.
