Fyre, you like Simon and Garfunkel? Do you, by chance, like other oldies, too?
Holla at the Monkees, Beatles, and Elvis!
I don't even know if I should list my stuff...
Jeez, okay, here we go...
The Carpenters - All time favorite band... Karen Carpenter is just.. there are NO. WORDS.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8-T2u9-8Ik (I Need to Be in Love) - Really does bring me to tears when I hear it!
Harmony Grass - Can't say I like them more than Karen, but music wise, beautiful! They were geniuses with that harmonizing stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEgRa0F74vo (I've Seen to Dream)
The Cyrkle - Great example of sunshine pop in the late 60s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0eUAVO876c (Reading Her Paper) - This seems like it follows the hit formula perfectly, and yet it didn't chart whatsoever..
Carole King - My current profile picture... I love her so much!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4REEmty-8xw (Been to Canaan)
Just going to mention a few here: Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell
The Feminine Complex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9BpZGRIl5s (Hold Me)
Wendy and Bonnie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaQtVD0V_y4 (I Realized You)
Strawberry Alarm Clock - Great psychedelic/psychedelic pop band
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw7_tDbYuZk (Sit with the Guru)
So I realize most people aren't going to listen to all of those, but if I were recommend one... Check out the Carpenters! Very easy listening (as is most of this stuff), or if you'd rather, "elevator music." So I really dig this old psychedelic, sunshine pop, and easy listening, but I am listening to newer music (mostly what my brother likes--rap, country, and other pop)... I just like everything, really.
