that wasnt the point blue, we just need to not have weird names. Just have the first part of your name as the first part of the nickname ...like aeon_geass_flailer for aeonex_ashaxei or tom_Thomas for tomstr, just so we can hold down tab to match up the real name. I have found an easier way to fill out names though. If you start a name and the person is online, you just have to hit tab and it'll fill out the closest alphabetically to what you started. I haven't tested when more than one person has the root word in their name, but I'm guessing it works even if there are.

There was actually a rule at first that said to have part of your name in the nick, but that was either ignored or overruled by popular demand ...now we know that was a mistake xD

The primary reason we need to keep this rule enforced is because it's very hard to keep track of conversations and "drama" issues in chat log when the nicknames are changed. Moving through server logs has been very difficult in solving drama disputes for Admins who address these issues.

All OPs: Please always have part/most of the original nickname in the new nick.

I think blue_fish would be clearer ...I've been trying to change nicks to that format but it doesn't have to be that way. We should probably get the opinions of other OPs, especially the ones that get confused by nicknames the most before we say anything definite. Worst case that can happen is you get your name changed again if you get the nick "bluefish" blue =P
