Just as their old Consoles, you can still play local and online multiplayer on it, but it's different this time. There will be a smartphone application that you can connect with your Nintendo Switch. Then it will become a paid service beginning in the fall of 2017. Details and price will be added on their homepage about this service on a later date.
region locking
As you guys might know that Nintendo always had their Consoles and Handhelds region locked. Which means you can only buy games of the same region where the console is from. With the Nintendo Switch, there won't be a region lock anymore. Which means you can buy games from any region you like.
Information about the console itself
The console itself comes with a Switch dock, where you put the console in. The dock itself is linked to the TV trough a cable. If you wish to take the game with you, you just take the console out of it's dock and connect the left- right Joy con from the main controller, and put it on the switch so you can keep playing.
Playstyle
tv mode: With this mode, you play games on your tv in typical gaming style.
tabletop mode: Play on the console with it's stand on the table.
handheld mode: Attach the right and left joy con on the system, so you can take it with you and play games. it's battery life will depend on the game and will range from 2,5 hours to 6,5 hour. And you can play while charging it with portable batteries. and you can connect with wi-fi for multiplayer battles.
local mutiplayer: Up to 8 nintendo switch systems can be connected for local wireless mutiplayer gaming.
Joy con
The Joy con is a new type of controller for the Nintendo switch, it comes with a joy con grip and left and right joy cons attached to it, this is the main controller for when playing on TV. The joy con can be removed from the grip so you can attach it to the console itself, and take it with you. Each joy con has an Analogue stick. it has a home button and there's an NFC reader on the button of the analogue stick, so you can use Amiibo. On the left joy con, it has a button that takes screenshots of your gameplay in the future it will be able to do videos as well. You're able to share the screenshots with your friends trough social media. Each joy con has sensors so you're able to play motion control games with it as well. On the side there are buttons that work with the console. thanks to those buttons, each joy con is able to work as a controller on its own. they are also available in the colors: neon blue and Neon red
