Is tere a way to restrict the command to only allow people to change their own names? My knowledge on the technical aspects of this are pretty limited. Also, I think it is important that we not go overboard on this. I only intend to change my name to Indra (what I originally wanted My MC name to be) or Indy. It would probably be wise for us to not go overboard with this. A little fun every now and then is all well and good, but we could lose this privilege if we take it too far.
an example of a little fun *points at attachment* haha and everyone was changed back afterwards :3

@shpp - Haha ... 'James-fest on CFEW' eh? .. lol yes I can see where this /nick does bring some ~fun~ to the server. The /nick command will stay then.
@SuperOPs - Right now the command will stay SOP only until I get used to how, what pros and cons result from this. All in all I think it's more Pros than cons. The few cons that we see now, can be dealt with under some friendly reminders of the /rules. We do have a solid group of OPs and they a good people all in all. Yes I can see some have gotten carried away with some inappropriate 'nicks'. I'll talk with them after this email, via private chat, and any others that I encounter. If any given OP ignores my first warning to keep the Nicks 'non-profane' or 'non-vulgar' then I'll temporarily remove their right to use ~nick.
@Indrae - For now I think it is important to allow each person to only change their own nick.
@Aeon - We're heading in the direction of allowing players to have their nicks changed also. I just wanna figure out how we can make zones, send mail & private messages, n such for a player with a nickname. If someone has a nick name that doesn't resemble their original nick... then how do we know what their original nick is? Also I tried the /who command at the console and i didn't see the 'original names'. How did you find the original names of a person with a ~nickname?
@clown You can find out the original name of somebody by pressing tab. But the problem is you don't know who has what nickname (except for with SuperOPs because of their rank).
thanks aussie :D does that mean everyone can have nicks fishy?

Right Clown, I know we think it is best to only allow people to change their own names and leave others alone, but can we configure the plugin to do that? If we can, I feel that would solve most of the problems with this issue.
I agree with cole, except I'm quicker to adapt with matching up the tab list ...still rather inconvenient.
