Hello Everyone, Clownfish and I looked into this. As far as I am concerned, I looked into the last 3 days and couldn't find any record of Straven spamming or swearing beyond today. Wolve has spammed a lot lately, I have witnessed it in the past myself. I believe tempban of 3 days is sufficient punishment. Spam and swearing won't be tolerated here...

Straven35 was demoted to Builder3.... He has helped out at least 10 people in the last 3 days, from what I have seen personally. Especially with his /warp cop "clan" of enforcing server rules. And also his general attitude helping out other players, giving them things, advice to newbies, etc. He's a really valuable player, and I want others to see that. It's best his Trusted6 status remain. If he breaks rules again, please be sure to screenshot and take it to OPs who will post here.

As for Wolve, a tempban of 3 days is also recommended for excessive spam and getting away with cursing often. If he swears or curses one more time after he comes back, a demotion will definitely drive the point that swearing and spamming won't be tolerated...

So far both have been demoted to B3 and tempbaned for a week, I'm going to sleep for the night and thought i might as well check this thread. If anyone would like to adjust wolve's ban to be 3 days long that would be great and if someone were to unban straven. But i would say he was cursing and said the S word uncensored. Also another thing i have never know exactly. Is ************** considered cursing? Kinda seems a bit in the grey. Good night everyone. Check your mail Box.

Right so shall we unban Straven35 and give him t6 back?? Also i unbanned wolve and he logged on and i told him that we had reduced his ban to two more days and he didn't exactly complain kinda seemed glad and thankful for us reducing it from what i could tell.

About the whole grey area with the asterisks being counted as swearing...
If in the right context, and seems to be angrily doing it to basically get away with swearing, I would count it as intentionally trying to express profane anger, without getting in trouble. It may not be explicitly swearing, but it's the intentions and implication of swearing behind it as much as the actual swear itself. It is also a little disrespectful too if it was intended as swearing.

As cole said, it is a grey area, but whether considered swearing or not, it is also spammy if just said on it's own.

The intention here is not important. Not trying to go against your thoughts and concerns james. We cannot control the thoughts and emotions of other human beings. We should let everyone have fun. Wolve and Raven are valuable members of CFEW. We will consider this when making judgements.

By intentions, I mean intentions to rule break, rule skirt, or generally be disrespectful, so in a way Ash, it is at least relevant.
It is not always this way, so it is a case by case thing.
Personally I didn't witness what was said, so I can only generalise really.

Edit - what I meant by my earlier post was generally to look at the context, their intentions and emotions in the situation are relevant. For example, I think it's fair to say if someone said "you are *********" or equivelant, then it's safe to assume swearing may have been intended...
Either way, never meant to try and spread the word to "control" others' emotions, only to read off of them.

Wait if wolve does it more often, wouldnt it make since to demote him? i mean if straven only spammed a little within the last few days while wolve spammed alot, wouldnt it make since to give greater punishment to wolve? Im jsut curious

What wolve has done can be taken into account; in this occasion they have both been given similar punishment, but the same may not happen again next time.
